In early August, baseball's Carson DeMartini, women's soccer's Victoria Haugen, Tori Powell, Lauren Gogel, and Alia Skinner, and wrestling's Bryce Andonian of Virginia Tech participated in the Kid's Farmers Market. The event was a collaboration between two of our partners: Feeding Southwest Virginia and Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia.

The Kids’ Farmers Market Program (KFM), a pop-up interactive experience organized by Feeding Southwest Virginia, provides free produce and vital nutrition education to children from families facing financial constraints or limited access to fresh produce. Beyond promoting healthy eating habits, this initiative also imparts essential financial literacy skills to the young participants. The student-athletes' involvement truly embodied the Hokie spirit of community service and making a positive impact where it matters the most.

By participating in the Kid's Farmers Market, the Virginia Tech student-athletes not only supported the mission of Feeding Southwest Virginia and The Boys and Girls Club, but also underscored The Hokie Way's commitment to community engagement and making a difference in the lives of those in need.
