The episode included interviews with Virginia Tech Head Football Coach Brent Pry, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kenny Brooks, and student-athletes Elizabeth Kitley, Pheldarius Payne, Sean Pedulla, Jaylin Lane, and more.

Nonprofit ran a donation match campaign of up to $250,000 throughout the month of August
[Blacksburg, VA, September 5, 2023] The Hokie Way, an independent 501(c)(3) organization, is excited to announce that its “Countdown to Kickoff Donation Match” campaign was a huge success. Generous donors pledged to match up to $250,000 in donations received from August 1 - September 2. The organization received $265,495 in donations during the campaign, surpassing its goal and ultimately resulting in $515,495 in funding.

In early August, baseball's Carson DeMartini, women's soccer's Victoria Haugen, Tori Powell, Lauren Gogel, and Alia Skinner, and wrestling's Bryce Andonian of Virginia Tech participated in the Kid's Farmers Market. The event was a collaboration between two of our partners: Feeding Southwest Virginia and Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia.

In May, Hokies Men's Basketball Guard, Sean Pedulla, and Football's Wide Receiver, Jaylin Lane, participated in the 24th annual Delta Dental Pro-Am for Kids at Roanoke Country Club. The event was organized in collaboration with The Hokie Way's charitable partner, The Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia.

The Virginia Tech-aligned non-profit organization The Hokie Way announced Tuesday that it raised more than $600,000 in 2022 to help promote charitable causes using athletes’ names, images and likenesses. The Hokie Way launched in July 2022 and it’s one of four sports marketing agencies or NIL collectives that support athletes at Virginia Tech.
